IDEA

Binance and Alpine F1 team worked with Aircards to promote the launch of Pierre Gasly’s new helmet ahead of the Melbourne grand prix. The idea was to launch the helmet in conjunction with a mural that was being painted live in the lead up to the race weekend.

CHALLENGES

We were going to use image tracking of the mural as a trigger for the AR experience but this would mean testing would be hard if not impossible until a significant part of the mural had been completed. Time zones would also be an issue with 12 hours difference meaning a lot of testing being completed in the early hours before the mural was to be unveiled.

SOLUTION

Using 8th walls image recognition we were able to set up multiple image tracks from parts of the mural. This enabled us to overlay an AR model of the helmet onto the mural at various locations along it. Users were able to see the helmet and interact with it exploring it from all angles.
