WHAT DOES A CREATIVE TECHNOLOGIST DO?

...is a question i'm getting very used to answering. As a Creative Technologist I get involved in all areas of a companies business. From the very start of a project advising on what the latest technologies out there are, and how they can add value to the proposition. To looking at existing projects and seeing if they can be updated to incorporate some of the newer technologies being released. The role involves constant research on the latest hardware and software releases. Then getting your hands on it and making sure you know as much about it and how to use it.

I'm based in Chelmsford Essex, but have spent my entire career working for London Digital Agencies. With Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality finally coming to the mainstream market. My role has expanded to advising and developing Virtual reality environments and Augmented Reality projects for Web AR and native apps. As a developer I'm always looking to push the development of these areas further and further with each project I'm involved in. Using software like Unity and Unreal Engine means the possibilities are only limited by your imagination when it comes to native apps. However with Playcanvas entering the market, this has now meant making mobile browser experiences is becoming easier and quicker and bringing Web AR more to the general mainstream consumer audiences. The latest headsets such as the Meta Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro will further push the possibilities for even greater enhanced Augmented Reality experiences.
